Challenge

Cobot’s 20’ × 30’ called for a full canopy roof carrying two sets of dimensional can-lit letters, LED perimeter lighting, and six 24” × 24” LED fixtures — all riding on an aluminum extrusion frame that had to go up straight, level, and fast inside McCormick Place’s move-in window. With an 85” and a 75” monitor hung on opposite walls, and wood-grain casework, floating shelves, and a laminated floor waiting on the structure, there was no slack for a frame that wasn’t true.

Approach

Drawings & Pre-Plan

Walked the 26-sheet setup package before move-in — floorplan, rigging, ceiling electrical, and panel plan — and sequenced the build around McCormick Place’s freight and rigging windows.

Structure & Canopy

Stood the aluminum extrusion skeleton and locked the canopy grid in level and square, ladder crews working section by section so the roof could carry the letter sets and lighting.

Panels, Power & Monitors

Set the panel walls, white laminated floor, and wood-grain casework, then hung the 85” and 75” monitors and ran power for the LED perimeter and can-lit logos.

Detail & Walkthrough

Floating shelves, high-boys, and final finish QA, then a full walkthrough with the client team before the hall opened — and a clean dismantle after close.
